You heard that right. In parallel with making the game, we've been working on a space station in my garage. Shoutout to This orThat for the help putting it together. This is real btw:
We also got our crew thanks to a few brave volunteers from the community. And thank you to those who were not local but threw their hat in the mix. You have our respect. We will be preparing for takeoff shortly. Now because time acts strange in space you might not get our outer space transmission for a bit. But trust me, it will be worth the wait. Alright back to the game.
This new level adds new enemies including our 2nd major boss. Again we wont share everything cuz that's no fun. But we wanted to highlight the Ice Harvester. This enemy was influenced by legendary pilot Signal. He pointed out Devoid’s lack of enemies that indirectly attack. So we added one.
The harvester's eyes will swell red, bursting cannonballs of energy in every direction. One of my fav additions for sure.
Also speaking of Signal, check out his past weekly score. This is insane:
PS. We added an updating date label to the game over screen for V6 too. This did not happen on April 10th lol.

-Sub Machine Gun
-Bullet Recycler
We have a backlog containing a bunch of gear concepts. So when we get the chance we will make more. We also have the feature request in the Devoid discord too. So if you want something custom, let us know.
We added a TON of quality of life stuff. I've been losing sleep over how subpar our onboarding process was. So we revamped the tutorial. Cut the tutor system. Yup, that's right. We cut it because the tutorial covers everything you need now without any dialogue.
Quick thank you to Jordan for the feedback regarding the tutorial and the suggestion to add settings such as screen res.
Now I think you guys are going to be as hyped as we are about this. We upgraded your shuttle's interface. Introducing your new HUD:
BEFORE:
AFTER:
You’ll have to let us know if it helps blast Saprobes out in the Wastes. It has been working great for me so far.
We’ve been considering adding classes to the game thanks to DYING_K1TT3N's suggestion a while back. If you want to try out the new class system and influence our decision you’ll want to access our experimental branch on Steam.
Now there are no in-game descriptions yet for what classes do. So here they are:
Rookie: Normal behavior.
Blitz: Narrower Vision Cone Moves Faster. Your attacks that are far away deal less damage. And more when close.
Hollywood: Low base damage. Damage scales for every kill and hit within 5 sec of each other. Take damage and the combo chain breaks.
Juggernaut: Regens energy and shield while standing still. Drains a ton of energy when moving.
Psycho: Deals more damage the lower your battery is. And less damage the more full your battery is.
Perfectionist: Low base damage. Every consecutive hit builds focus which increases base damage Swapping weapons breaks focus, decreasing base damage A miss completely resets focus. Back to the class base for damage.
Lastly, this weekend I’ll be heading to the Lake George Game Expo as a volunteer for the Tech Valley Game Space (and I get to showcase Devoid… epic!). If you are a game developer, or aspire to be one, this dev community has provided me with immense value on my journey. Highly recommend checking out their Discord
I also got 2 free tickets to this expo (thanks to my boss). So if you're local and wanna go let us know.
Oh and here is a cool screenshot:
And that's basically everything. Longer post ik ik. But there are a lot of exciting things going on. You can wishlist Devoid to stay in orbit and if you want to embark, fly over to our Steam playtest. It's open to everyone.
Until next time,
