Devoid multiplayer: Pilots docked at spacestation

CO-OP

V4 is on the horizon.

I'm gonna say it outright. It will be our best update yet. I mean. This feature list is insane:

-Couch co-op

-A second level

-First unskippable boss battle (The Saprobe Broodmother)

-New goblin spacestation enemy

-New Item: Singularity Charge

Scorecard stats overhaul (for nerds like us this is hype)

Now with all of this heat, Jakub and I need time to cook

Our goal is to have V4 drop around New Years. Can’t promise that exact timeline. But it's our internal team target. Digitdill got you though. Just finished landscaping work for the season as winter is coming so I now have ample time to #devoidit.

Our bold bet on the market

We are sidelining online multiplayer and sticking with solely couch co-op. What? Why? That's like the exact opposite direction the market is heading. Online multiplayer “friend slop" is at an all time high. True. But today we are more isolated than ever. Online multiplayer is a facade. It's not the real human interaction we crave. Devoid will bring people back together. So we can game together in the same room. Just like the glory days.

We were recently featured on the Rural Renaissance Substack where I talk about this in more depth. It's a valid read.

Also if you think this is crazy, it's not because Steam agrees with us. The Steam Machine is coming out in 2026. In person gaming is the future. The games market just doesn't know what's cool yet.

Did you play V3?

No? Well don’t miss out on the fun. It’s an early build. But trust the process, it's solid. If you did, we’d love to hear your feedback. We have a lovely discord where people discuss Devoid and such. You can also comment your thoughts on this blog post. Shii, I mean if you’re old school you can even email me at charles@luminousbits.net.

And if you want to support the game don't forget to wishlist Devoid. It helps us out ton.

Thanksgiving is tomorrow

Just want to say we are very thankful for all of the support we have. If you’re a fan of Devoid you’re part of the Luminous Bits fam. Don’t hesitate to reach out and say hi. Also we are thankful for the opportunity to even develop Devoid. Blessed to have the vision for this game.

Alright. I think that's all. My computer is broken asf. So I wrote this while Godot took 30 minutes to boot up lol.
